The Vaquita is
a porpoise Porpoises and dolphins, which are sometimes
confused with porpoises, belong to the cetacean group odontocetes.
Porpoises are distinguished from dolphins by the shape of their
teeth, which are flattened like shovels. Porpoises are smaller,
have a smaller, triangular shaped dorsal fin, but lack a long snout.
The Vaquita is unique among porpoises in having such a restricted
range, being found only in the upper Gulf of California and in no
other sea in the world.
